The Girl Behind the Camera
I started taking cosplay photography more serious in 2010 when I got my CANON Rebel XS camera (which I still use to this day), and realized how much I loved taking people's pictures. Before it was just standard hall shots like everyone starts with, and it evolved into becoming much more.
I am the official main event photographer for the group Ontario Cosplay Community. The group is founded by CosplayCanada and I was given the position of main event photographer.
You can find the deviantART for the group at Ontario-Cosplay-Club
I am the official main photographer for the convention Frostcon. You can find Frostcon on Twitter, Facebook, and the Official Site
I am the official main photographer for the convention Cornwall Tiny Con. You can find CoTiCon on Twitter, Facebook an the Official Site
Forewarning, that I will cosplay when I'm doing a photoshoot at a convention. So I've gained the reputation as a cosplaying cosplay photographer. However at FrostCon and CoTiCon you will find me wearing a staff shirt and a wig.
As a photographer:
You'll find that I like to experiment with posing and angles. I may ask you to take a slightly awkward pose if I think a photo can be more interesting from it. More often however you will find I will put myself in strange positions to take your photo, such as lying on my back with you over me, or even lying in snow looking up somehow to get a cool upshot. An example of something I'm willing to do is jump in a fountain for photos.
I will not put myself into a place where I do not feel safe - which is quite often somewhere very high. I will also never ask you to do something that you don't feel safe to do. Putting someone's comfort and potentially safety at risk is not worth it, not even if it turned out to be an amazing photo.
I try to make the photoshoot fun. There are often lots of jokes - sometimes even at my own expense.
If I am not familiar with the series you are cosplaying please forgive me, I obviously am not going to know everything. This is why I often ask for what your series will be ahead of time so that I can do research into the character(s) and series. This will help me learn a bit so that I can perhaps find poses that you yourself did not think of.
For further information on my work as a photographer, please check pricing & policies below. As well you can check out reviews from people who have worked with me.
